
Migel Dio, BS
Migel Dio is a first-generation immigrant from Quezon City, Philippines. He moved to the Bay Area at the age of 18, starting at community college before transferring to the UC Berkeley, where he earned a degree in Environmental Science and Global Public Health. After graduating, he started his career at UCSF as a Clinical Research Coordinator in neuroimmunological clinical trials, and he volunteered at Mabuhay Health Center, where he founded the Language and Cultural Advocacy ('LANGCA') committee after seeing how Filipino immigrants value Tagalog materials and access.
Having done research with Filipino Americans in the Bay Area, he is passionate about increasing diversity in research, health literacy, and working with diverse communities. He aspires to become a physician promoting culturally concordant care. In his free time, he enjoys specialty coffee, CrossFit, and video games
