The mission of the de Leon Lab is to better understand how bilingualism influences the trajectory of healthy aging and neurodegenerative diseases. We also study how the linguistic features of certain languages can impact findings on cognitive tasks. The goal of our lab is to improve dementia care for people with diverse language backgrounds.
The de Leon Lab is part of the UCSF Memory and Aging Center, which is a collaborative consortium of doctors, research, and healthcare professionals working together to address different neurodegenerative diseases.
